Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets is certainly one of the most exciting big men in the NBA, although some people argue whether he’s the whole package.
Everyone agrees that he’s a true offensive threat, while some people feel he is lacking on defense.
Kendrick Perkins thinks that Sengun has it all, and he summed up his opinion about him while speaking on ESPN.
“He is a top 5 big in the NBA…Not just because of the points, not just because of the rebounds & the assists, but he actually plays defense at a high level,” Perkins said.

Last season, Sengun put up very strong numbers for his Rockets, averaging 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists on 49.6 percent from the field.
That was good enough for him to earn his first All-Star appearance and make the Rockets one of the best teams in the West.
Sengun receives a lot of great reviews from people, especially excited Houston fans, but some people feel he could do more to become a defensive threat.
But even if that’s true, he is just 27 years old and has plenty of time to develop and grow his skills more in the seasons ahead.
Sengun is becoming one of the most talked-about big men in the league, and he is currently representing his home country of Turkey at EuroBasket.
That means that fans all over the world are witnessing Sengun, and many of them agree with Perkins’ view about him.
Once his time at EuroBasket is over, Sengun will come back to the US and prepare for another long season with the Rockets.
During 2025-26, he could be getting more praise like this from Perkins.
