Derrick White Reveals Stephen Curry’s Compliment About His Shot

Derrick White has become one of the most important players for the Boston Celtics by steadily increasing his skills and adding to his tool bag.

A lot of people have noticed his improvements, including perhaps the greatest NBA shooter of all time.

White recently revealed that Steph Curry gave him a huge compliment about his enhanced shooting.

“Steph came up to me and was like ‘What have you been doing? This is unbelievable. I respect your work!’ I’m like, ‘Let me shoot some more. I gotta jack some more shots.’ I must be doing something right. All those things have turned me into someone that shoots 10 threes a game now, take crazy ones now,” White said.

Hearing this sort of praise from Curry has to be a major honor because when it comes to shooting, no one is better.

He is right, because White has gotten better with this part of his game.

He noted that he’s now posting 10 three-point attempts a night, which is mostly true.

In 2024-25, he tried 9.1 threes per game, sinking 3.5 of them.

Those were both the highest of his career, and it’s obvious that he has been in the gym working on this part of his abilities.

The better he does, the more the Celtics use him.

Over the years, he has become more and more vital for the team and is now a consistent starter.

In the new season, Boston will turn to him even more because they will be battling without Jayson Tatum.

They want and need White to step up, and he obviously is.

Right now, Curry is praising White’s shots, but in a few months, he may grow tired of them.
