Lammens decision, Mainoo back in and Fernandes new role: Man Utd predicted XI v Man City after triple blow

Ruben Amorim has confirmed some players that will not be a part of his Manchester United side this Sunday as he weighs up some selection decisions for the trip to Manchester City.

Matheus Cunha, Mason Mount and Diogo Dalot are all unavailable for the visit across Manchester to the Etihad Stadium due to injury. Amorim said on Friday: "I don't know how long it is going to take. We need those players to be a very, very competitive team, but we have very good players that are eager to play, so we will be competitive on Sunday, but they are out, they cannot help us in this game.”

It means Amorim will need to come up with a solution - especially in attack - for how he navigates the derby. Amorim won at City last season and earned a 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford. He also beat Man City 4-1 in his final game as Sporting CP boss before making the move to the Red Devils.

In goal, Altay Bayindir will get the nod for the fourth Premier League game in a row. Amorim confirmed: "I believe in Altay. He is ready to play and he is going to play.

“Altay is going to continue because it’s a different league, it’s a different country, trainings, ball, so we try to maintain that and they will fight for the position. So, for me, it’s clear, Altay will start."

With one selection decision confirmed, we have predicted how Amorim might line up and try and compensate for the loss of Dalot, Mount and Cunha.

Bayindir has struggled in the opening matches of the campaign but Amorim has confirmed he will start on Sunday ahead of Lammens.
