Joel Veltman relished a defensive battle in a storm at Bournemouth last November.
Could he be in for a similar test on the return to the Vitality Stadium?
Seagulls head coach Fabian Hurzeler expressed some doubt over Mats Wieffer’s readiness for action as he spoke yesterday.
That could mean another outings at right-back for Veltman, having played in the win over Manchester City going into the international break.
Diego Gomez had the most demanding international break of any [Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/) player when combining minutes played with miles travelled.
There would appear a case for him to be on the bench today with Georginio Rutter coming in to the No.10 role – or, possibly, Brajan Gruda.
Another area where there could be a question mark is in a deeper-lying midfield role.
Carlos Baleba is now clear of the distractions of the transfer window – if it WAS a distraction - but Jack Hinshelwood and James Milner both look candidates for what will be an important job protecting the back-line against a lively Bournemouth side.
As ever the bench will also be very important in Hurzeler’s plans.
With Matt O’Riley having left, could this be the first time we see a rol**e for one of Stefanos Tzimas, Charalampos Kostoulas or Tommy Watson?**
