Manchester United player refused Friday transfer–Puts block on deadline exit

Tyrell Malacia has said no to Turkey, despite Manchester United lining up a deal for him to leave.

Back on September 9th, local journalist Reşat Can Özbudak revealed that United had reached an agreement with Turkish mid-table side Eyüpspor over a loan move, with the final word left to the player.

A club representative even flew to Manchester this week to try and get him on board. But on Friday evening, Özbudak confirmed the answer was negative: Malacia doesn’t want to play in the Süper Lig.

The window in Turkey is now closed.

The 26-year-old left-back has spent the summer on the outside of Ruben Amorim’s plans, with United looking for ways to move him on. Other players in the same situation have already secured new clubs, but Malacia remains in Manchester after refusing Eyüpspor’s push.

Interestingly, on the very same day his refusal came to light, Malacia was officially named in Manchester United’s Premier League squad for 2025/26.

With the main transfer windows now shut, it raises the question of what role he’ll actually have at Old Trafford in the months ahead.
