Yet another Manchester City player faces a spell on the sidelines

Currently, several Manchester City players are sidelined due to injury. Rayan Cherki, Omar Marmoush, and Mateo Kovacic each face spells on the sidelines. Each player is out of action for the foreseeable future. It has now been reported that Rayan Ait-Nouri is set to be ruled out for five weeks. The Algerian international sustained an ankle injury during Manchester City’s 2-nil defeat to Tottenham. He now joins Cherki, Marmoush, and Kovacic on the sidelines for Pep Guardiola’s side.

In a blow for Manchester City, Rayan Ait-Nouri is set to miss five weeks of action.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Rayan Ait-Nouri is set to be sidelined for five weeks. The ankle injury he suffered against Tottenham in August will see the Algerian international miss a crucial section of fixtures for his team.

The loss of Rayan Ait-Nouri to injury is a cruel blow.

Rayan Ait-Nouri had made a bright start to his Manchester City career. The Algerian international impressed during Manchester City’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign. He also played well in Manchester City’s 4-nil win over Wolves at Molineux to begin the 25/26 season. But now he is set to miss the next five weeks. That is a cruel blow for a player who seemed that he was on the verge of making the left-back role his own for Pep Guardiola’s side.

It is now hoped that Rayan Ait-Nouri can make a speedy recovery from injury. In his absence it is expected that Nathan Ake or Josko Gvardiol will play at left-back. Each player can do the job required by Pep Guardiola. So while it is a blow to lose Rayan Ait-Nouri to injury there are options for Pep Guardiola to utilise.
