Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest in Premier League
Premier League football is back after the international break and has served us up a very intriguing clash at the Emirates Stadium as Ange Postecoglou is back in the big time at today’s visitors. A tumultuous two weeks finally saw Nuno Espirito Santo given the sack and was replaced by the former Tottenham manager just a few days ago.
In what looks like a wild swing in philosophy between managers, Nuno’s rigid approach being swapped out for Postecoglou’s risky style, many are assuming this will be a walk in the park for the Gunners today. It will take time for Postecoglou to implement his style, but the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze could well be licking their lips.
But this is the Premier League and far stranger things have happened than last season’s seventh-placed team winning away at the perennial runners-up. Will Postecoglou get his first league win over Arsenal? Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Sam Tabuteau at the Emirates Stadium.
Early Arsenal team news
Eberechi Eze could make his first start for Arsenal this afternoon, while William Saliba remains in contention to play.
The attacking midfielder came off the bench for the final 20 minutes against Liverpool last time out, and could today replace Gabriel Martinelli on the left flank.
Bukayo Saka will miss the game with a hamstring injury, with Noni Madueke likely to come in.
Saliba will be assessed after returning to training after the ankle injury that forced him off early at Anfield, with Cristhian Mosquera the favourite to come in as reserve.
Ben White is set to return to the squad on Saturday, while deadline-day signing Piero Hincapie could make his debut.
Christian Norgaard has not featured since pre-season, however he has been back training this week.
