'You need to create': Luis Saha reveals his expectations for Benjamin Sesko against Man City

Louis Saha has set high expectations for Benjamin Sesko ahead of the Manchester derby, despite his rocky start to life at Old Trafford.

Sesko has come under fire for his performances since joining Manchester United, with Gabby Abonlahor labelling him a “coward” for not taking a penalty earlier against Grimsby Town.

Manchester United signed Sesko for £74million, but he has yet to start a Premier League game or score a goal for Ruben Amorim’s team, which has led to pressure mounting on him.

After a difficult start to the Premier League for the entire Manchester United squad, they are now set for a tough test against Manchester City, but Sesko could be an unexpected hero this weekend.

Louis Saha believes Benjamin Sesko will start against Manchester City

Manchester United already suffered significant blows before the derby game due to injuries to Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha, but that presents an opportunity for others.

Saha explained to Sky Sports that he expects Sesko to be the man to take that, as he anticipates that the new striker will start the game.

“I think so, yes. When you look at such a big fixture, you think that’s a great platform for having a game without massive pressure.

“You know that you are facing great defenders, you have great qualities, you’ve been bought because of your quality.

“This is an opportunity for him to shine; this is definitely a game where he can try, he can run, and make sure that he can show his quality.

“He’s playing with a bit of expectation, but that’s not the worry of a striker.

“You need to create chances, you need to be in the right position, and I think he’s shown that in a few games that he’s been involved. So I can expect great things from him.

Benjamin Sesko’s Manchester United teammates must find him

Saha isn’t the only Manchester United legend who believes that Sesko could become an essential player for the club.

Rio Ferdinand felt Sesko’s teammates didn’t help him against Fulham, and he wants to see the squad try to help each other on the pitch.

Ian Wright has also been impressed by Sesko, and with the number of former players supporting him growing, he is clearly doing something right.

One strong performance against Manchester City would certainly get the fans on his side, which would help him find his feet in England.
