Report: Another 'amazing' Man City player now set to be out until after October international…

Manchester City’s injury crisis may be showing signs of easing, but another player has now been ruled out for a number of weeks.

Savinho, Phil Foden, Josko Gvardiol, Abdukodir Khusanov, Rico Lewis, Kalvin Phillips, Nico O’Reilly and Marcus Bettinelli all trained ahead of the Manchester derby.

At the same time, Manchester City are still missing a number of key squad members, and it has now been reported that one of the injured players is now set to be out for five weeks.

Rayan Ait-Nouri set for five weeks on the sidelines

Pep Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference on Friday that Omar Marmoush, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rayan Cherki are out, while John Stones is a doubt.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Ait-Nouri – who joined City from Wolves just this summer – will be out for around five weeks due to an ankle injury.

With the October international break taking place between 6 and 14 October, it looks as though Ait-Nouri won’t be fit again until the Premier League returns to action afterwards.

It looks as though Ait-Nouri’s ankle injury is an aggravation of the problem he picked up in the August loss to Tottenham Hotspur.

The worrying statistic which shows how unlucky Manchester City have been on the injury front

When it comes to scouting players and making new signings, all the top clubs will look at players’ injury records to try and determine how much they are likely to play.

Ait-Nouri’s injury record ahead of his move to City was solid – his last injury was three years ago, and he had only ever been ruled out for more than two weeks once before in English football.

Now, just a few months into his City spell, the “absolutely amazing” Ait-Nouri finds himself on the sidelines for over a month.

Likewise, Rayan Cherki only missed out on one game through injury in four years, and now he finds himself out for two months.

That just goes to show how unlucky City have been over the past few weeks.
