Commanders fans panic after radio host drops Jayden Daniels injury update

Things didn't go well for Jayden Daniels on Thursday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers. And one radio host with connections to the Washington Commanders sounded the alarm on a much more concerning issue.

That, of course, is Daniels' health. After taking some significant punishment versus a stout Packers defensive front, the signal-caller was feeling the effects by game's end. The Commanders had no answer for a dominant pass-rush who had their way with Washington's offensive line, and the No. 2 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft suffered accordingly.

And the Commanders are rightfully taking every possible precaution regarding their franchise player if a recent report is accurate.

Commanders reportedly gave Jayden Daniels an MRI on his knee after the Packers game

Grant Paulsen from 106.7 The Fan revealed that Daniels had an MRI to determine if there was anything more serious regarding his knee issue. No further information was given, but the radio host couldn't help but be a little bit worried by this concerning development.

"He got folded up and was limping pretty good. A half dozen guys were getting evaluated, and he was one of those players who was getting imaging done on his knee, it sounds like. And I wonder about that moving forward. No one's really talked about [Jayden] Daniels' health, but the last time we saw him, he was limping, and it sounds like they're doing some imaging on the knee that didn't allow him to move normally. Until I hear everything is on the up and up, that worries me."

Too early to know exactly what’s going on with Jayden Daniels, but I’ve heard he got an MRI on his knee today after getting banged up last night in Green Bay. Was limping pretty good at the end of the game.

The Commanders have a capable understudy in veteran Marcus Mariota. However, if this ambitious project wants to reach some lofty expectations in 2025, it needs Daniels on the field.

It's that simple.

Daniels might not have started the campaign in his typically prolific fashion, but he's an elite-level performer. He took the league by storm as a rookie, and the Commanders outlined their belief in the player by bolstering his supporting cast this offseason.

Things haven't quite gone according to plan so far, but there is a long way to go. Daniels being banged up so early into the campaign isn't ideal. Still, he played through pain last season. Not only that, he thrived.

A knee problem is arguably more restrictive than a broken rib. With defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. out for the season and veteran running back Austin Ekeler likely suffering the same fate, it was no surprise to see head coach Dan Quinn cut a dejected figure following the loss.

Losing Daniels would be a catastrophe. It might be just precautionary, but everyone will be anxiously awaiting news in the coming days.

And let's hope it's good.
