Max Kilman reveals Graham Potter has helped him ‘a lot defensively’
West Ham have struggled defensively at the start of the season, putting pressure on the squad to fix it, and Kilman revealed to Sky Sports that Potter and his staff have been working tirelessly on that.
“Since his team and his staff have come in, they’ve helped a lot of the team.
“Of course, for me, they’ve definitely helped a lot defensively, which is something I always want to improve on as a defender.
“They’ve done a lot of work on us as a back line. You can see the intensity, the work that they put in. Graham and his staff are top.”
David Sullivan’s contemplation of firing Potter showcases why extra work was needed with the squad, and the clean sheet against Forest proved that improvements had been made.
West Ham face a tough test against Tottenham
Unfortunately for Potter and Kilman, things aren’t going to get any easier this season as they prepare to face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
It promises to be another tough test for the Hammers, as Thomas Frank aims to get Spurs thriving in the Premier League and challenging for a place in Europe.
Potter’s hard work to turn around West Ham’s fortunes will be tested here. While the win against Forest was positive, another heavy defeat would immediately put him back under pressure.
