Liverpool have just one injured player within their senior ranks, leaving Arne Slot with a range of options at right-back and in midfield.
The Reds’ internationals have returned from their duties with a clean bill of health, something “that’s not always the situation,” admitted Slot.
This has given the head coach plenty of options in all areas of the pitch – a happy headache to have with a long season ahead in which Liverpool want to win on multiple fronts.
Here’s how Liverpool could line up against Burnley.

Here’s what Slot said in his press conference:
Curtis Jones “got injured in the last game so he will not be available”
“The rest of them came back without a problem”
Liverpool’s XI vs. Burnley

The main conundrum Slot faces is who to play at right-back.
In recent weeks, he has been forced to play Szoboszlai there, but the Hungarian’s superb performances have meant the absence of Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong, who are both now fit again, hasn’t been felt.
Frimpong started the season at right-back, so the logical train of thought would be to suggest he will play there. However, he may be short of match sharpness, so Slot may elect to play Bradley, who started both of Northern Ireland’s recent outings.
This would mean Szoboszlai starting in midfield, with Alexis Mac Allister missing out after a traditionally taxing trip to South America.
Here are the likely selection decisions made by Slot:
This is how Liverpool would line up:
Alisson; Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Salah, Ekitike, Gakpo
While fans will be eager to see Alexander Isak in action, they may have to wait a little longer to see their new No. 9 on the pitch.
Isak is fit, but he has only played 22 match minutes since the end of last season, having trained alone during Newcastle‘s pre-season.
Slot said: “So we are happy that they are fit, and again, compliment not only to the Swedish manager [for resting Isak] but also the others, because a few others like Ryan Gravenberch only started one game and not both of them.”
We could, therefore, see Isak as a substitute. However, don’t expect him to start the match.
Here is how Liverpool could start in an alternative scenario:
Bradley starts at right-back and Frimpong comes off the bench
Milos Kerkez remains at left-back, with both Robertson and he having played two games in the international break
Isak begins the day as a substitute but could come on depending on the second-half scoreline
Here’s how this alternate team would look:
Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Wirtz; Salah, Ekitike, Gakpo
Jones’ injury issue is a blow for the individual, but at this moment in time it shouldn’t affect the team too much, despite the midfielder being in good form.
The big questions for Slot lie at right-back and in Mac Allister’s true match sharpness.
Wwhichever starting XI play for Liverpool, though, they are expected to come through with a win at Turf Moor against a Burnley team who have taken a total of three points from three games.
