FC Barcelona have issued an official statement confirming that Lamine Yamal has been sidelined with discomfort ahead of tomorrow’s Valencia game.
“The player Lamine Yamal is experiencing discomfort in the pubic area that prevents him from training and playing at this time,” the statement read.
“His progress will determine his availability for returning to training.”

News of Lamine’s absence to face Valencia was confirmed by Hansi Flick during his press conference earlier today after the 18-year-old missed training.
The manager was critical of the Spain national team for the management of Lamine and his minutes during the international break, considering that he was already dealing with discomfort at the time.
Lamine will, thus, miss tomorrow’s home game against Valencia. It will be interesting to see who replaces him in the starting XI, with new signing Roony Bardghji now registered and available at Flick’s disposal.
While the statement from the club does not specify any return time, reports suggest that he is practically ruled out of the team’s opening Champions League match against Newcastle United next week.
