Official: Marc Bernal finally returns for Barcelona

The ACL injury suffered by Marc Bernal at the beginning of last season was a huge blow for FC Barcelona. Considering the youngster’s talent and the faith that Hansi Flick had in him, losing him to such a major injury was a big problem.

Since then, the 18-year-old Spanish midfielder has been working on his recovery in the hopes of returning as soon as possible. However, it is common knowledge that the road to recovery following an ACL injury is always a difficult one.

Fortunately, those worries have now been left behind. As confirmed officially by Barcelona, Bernal has finally been declared fit after having been sidelined for 382 days. Having been out for more than a year, this is big news for both the player and the club.

Moreover, the club has now given him the green light to start featuring under Hansi Flick’s orders once again. However, despite this positive development, it is clear enough that Barça will be cautious with his return and he will likely not feature a lot in these upcoming games.

Even then, having the option of calling upon him will be great news for Flick and the rest of the team. As one of La Masia’s most promising prospects in recent years, the 18-year-old midfielder has a lot of quality to offer. Unfortunately, however, another teenage sensation has now been ruled out for the upcoming game against Valencia.
