West Ham United midfielder Guido Rodriguez is seen as ‘one of the biggest opportunities’ on the market, after sending a ‘new nod’ to former club Real Betis this week.
That’s [according to Estadio Deportivo](https://www.estadiodeportivo.com/futbol/betis/nuevo-guino-guido-rodriguez-betis-20250912-511726.html), who explain that Rodriguez was one of the options Betis considered to strengthen their defensive midfield options this summer before ultimately opting for Sofyan Amrabat.
He wants to leave West Ham, though, and will be able to do so as a free agent next summer as long as the Hammers don’t activate a clause in his contract.
His potentially availability makes him one of the biggest opportunities for Betis, who remain firm fans of him after his time at the club. That’s despite him leaving on a free and then later joining West Ham.
Indeed, the two parties remain open to a reunion, there is no bad will according to Estadio, and the West Ham midfielder was even nodding at his former club this week when he posted a photo of him in a Betis shirt to congratulate the Spanish club on their 118th birthday.
That showed their relationship remains okay, and it remains to be seen what Betis do next summer if he is available on a free.
They only have Amrabat on loan until the summer and there is no option to buy, so they may have to consider signing a defensive midfielder at that point and Rodriguez could be an option.
