Quinshon Judkins expected to play for Browns in Week 2.

The Cleveland Browns are expected to have Quinshon Judkins in the lineup in Week 2.

The rookie running back signed his contract ahead of Week 1. But, he didn’t play because he missed training camp and preseason games. However, after practicing all week, Judkins is expected to be activated from the Commissioner’s Exempt List. He will also be in the lineup for Week 2 when the Browns take on the Baltimore Ravens, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

“Browns RB Quinshon Judkins (questionable) is expected to make his NFL debut Sunday vs. Ravens, per sources,” Fowler wrote on X.

Judkins practiced on Thursday and Friday after meeting with the NFL on Wednesday. Despite only practicing twice, the running back has done enough to show he is ready to make his debut on Sunday.

Although Judkins will play, it’s uncertain what his role will be for the Browns in Week 2. But the good news is Judkins will be active and will add another threat to the running game, which struggled in Week 2.

Judkins was selected 36th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft by Cleveland.

Judkins ‘Happy’ to be Back

After a summer of legal trouble, which ended up being dropped, Judkins is excited to be back on the football field.

Ahead of his potential NFL debut in Week 2, Judkins says he’s just happy to put all that behind him and focus on playing football.

“You learn different things,” Judkins said. “You see how important people that are around you are, like your family, your inner circle, people that support you. I made it through that and I’m happy to be back… I’m glad that the prosecutor closed the case and didn’t file any charges. I’m appreciative of that. Just happy to be back in Cleveland and with my teammates here and accomplish my goal.”

Although the Browns haven’t said if Judkins will play, if he is in the lineup, he plans to make a statement and prove why he was a second-round pick.

“As a competitor, as a player, you want to go out there and do your best every single day you step on the field,” Judkins said. “So if I have to play, I’m going to give it my all.”

Judkins joins a Browns’ running back room that features Jerome Ford, Dylan Sampson, and Raheim Sanders.

Browns Coach Praises Judkins

Although Judkins only had a couple of days of practice, Browns’ coach Kevin Stefanski was impressed with him.

Stefanski felt like Judkins showed what he needed to do. He’s also in good shape to potentially play in Week 2.

“We’ll work through that, over the next 24 hours,” Stefanski said about Judkins’ status for Week 2. “I’d say he has done a nice job. He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do up to this point.”

If Judkins does get in the lineup in Week 2, Stefanski believes he will add a new look to the running game.

“Yeah, need to see, need to get through the next 24 hours. But obviously, he’s a player that we think highly of, so we’ll see,” Stefanski added.

Cleveland rushed for just 49 yards in Week 1.
