Head coach Ange Postecoglou is hopeful Nottingham Forest defender Murillo will quickly recover from the knock he sustained against Arsenal.
The Brazilian was forced off in the first half of the Reds’ 3-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium. He initially tried to continue after receiving treatment on the pitch but was eventually replaced by Nicolo Savona just before the break.
Forest are quickly back in action, with a trip to face Swansea City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday followed by a meeting with Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier League next Saturday. And Postecoglou is hopeful Murillo will recover to be involved.
“He has a knock. We are hoping it is nothing too serious and that he will be available next week,” the Reds boss said.
Forest had gone into the game against the Gunners already without Ola Aina due to a hamstring problem. They then lost centre-back Murillo with 37 minutes gone.
Murillo had picked up a knock a few minutes earlier and had received treatment on the pitch. He initially rejoined the action but then went down again and it was decided he was unable to continue.
He was replaced by summer signing Nicolo Savona in the 37th minute. The change meant Morato moved from operating at left-back to partnering Nikola Milenkovic in the centre of the defence.
