Oklahoma is ranked as the No. 13 team in the nation after its 2-0 start, defeating Illinois State in its season opener, in what was essentially a warm-up game for its huge Week 2 showdown against then-No. 23 Michigan.
Quarterback John Mateer led the way for the Sooners in the win over Michigan, a 24-13 result in OU Memorial Stadium, throwing for 270 yards to go with one touchdown and one interception. Mateer added 19 carries for 74 tards and two more scores on the ground. Deion Burks caught seven passes for 101 yards and one score in the win.
Temple, meanwhile, is also off to a 2-0 start, taking down UMass to open the season 42-0 before defeating Howard 55-7. As it enters this upset opportunity against Oklahoma, it enters with good momentum.
