Leeds United were left heartbroken with a cruel own goal from Gabriel Gudmundsson leaving Leeds without a deserved point after a battling display.
The Whites enjoyed most of the possession in the first half with Noah Okafor the most lively attacker. For the first 50 minutes, they arguably had the better, albeit sporadic, scoring opportunities.
The chances of note fell to Sean Longstaff, who skimmed the bar with a rasping first-half effort, and Brenden Aaronson, who could only divert a low ball into the gloves of goalkeeper Leno.
The game was more balanced in the second period, and the substitutions did not do much to break this cycle and only a stoppage time own goal from Gudmundsson could divide the two sides.
However, Leeds have yet to score in 270 minutes of league action and Daniel James going off with injury after coming on as a substitute was concerning. Here are how the players rated:
KARL DARLOW
Came out well when balls were sent through, helping the defenders to make up their minds. Made a terrific save from Harry Wilson's free-kick. Tipped a superb effort over the bar before the winner. 9
JAYDEN BOGLE
Showed deft touches when advancing forward and also kept Alex Iwobi at bay. Wasn't afraid to attack the space and spark a Leeds counter. 8
JOE RODON
Stood his ground well and dealt with the aerial balls. In the right place at the right time. Was a hard shift for him but he passed the test. 8
PASCAL STRUIJK
Got his head to a lot and communicated well with Darlow when balls were played through. 7
GABRIEL GUDMUNDSSON
Sometimes let the winger down his flank and a touch wayward with his crossing. Had a handful to deal with when Traore came on but he that won goal was an overly cruel blow. 5
ANTON STACH
Used his strength to win the ball but was over zealous at times, giving away free-kicks. Didn't make the most of his possession or shooting space, really. 6
ETHAN AMPADU
Brave and effective with his decisions, getting his foot in and commanding his teammates. Leeds look more in control when he's on the pitch. Didn't do much wrong today. 8
SEAN LONGSTAFF
Brought composure and stability, carrying on from where he left off last time out. Saw a rasping shot flick off the bar in the first half. 8
BRENDEN AARONSON
Lost the muscular battle but won some ground duels. Lacked attacking vigour though - and he was used as a right winger. 6
DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN
Won a series of headers and free-kicks, but didn't do much else bar a lovely flick into Noah Okafor in the box. Needs to watch his line, as caught offside a few times. 7
NOAH OKAFOR
Bright, proactive and productive. Got the better of his man more than a handful of times and was often seen driving forwards. Stuttered a bit in the second half but still managed to beat a man. 8
SUBS
DANIEL JAMES (on 76' for Aaronson)
Used his pace to win a free-kick. Hurt himself in the process. Later went down with an issue and had to go off. 6
JACK HARRISON (on 68' for Okafor)
Was eager to press. Linked up on the left decently, without being potent. 6
WILFRIED GNONTO (on 89' for James)
Came on too late for a rating. N/A.
LUKAS NMECHA (on 68' for Calvert-Lewin)
Chester the ball down well for one attack bit didn't do much overly significant afterwards. 5
