Leeds United were away from home to Fulham as they hoped to continue their positive start to the season. Daniel Farke’s men were hoping to build on their four points from three games heading into the international break.
In a closely contested Premier League clash at Craven Cottage, with the score locked at 0-0, it looked like both teams would settle for a draw. However, deep into stoppage time, a cross into the Leeds penalty area was headed by Gabriel Gudmundsson into his own net, giving Fulham a dramatic 1-0 victory.

Despite winning the game, Marco Silva said that Leeds could have gotten a result. According to him, the Whites would have been in a great position if they finished off their chances in the first half:
“Difficult game as we expected,” he said in the post-match press conference.
“Good organisation from Leeds. It was difficult to break them down in the first half. The tempo and the dynamic was not at the level to disorganise them. First half the better chances were for Leeds.”
The Fulham boss also added that the game was more balanced than he expected.
“We are fortunate the way we won the game, it was very tight and balanced. Not the best feeling for Daniel and the Leeds boys, it’s part of the game, sometimes for us, sometimes against us.”
Where does that leave Leeds?
Daniel Farke will have to go back to the drawing board as the team cannot continue to be poor away from home this season. He tried to shake up the attack with Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin and Okafor, but it did not pay off on the day.
Missing out on adding an attacker on deadline day seems to have backfired on the club. So far, Leeds have managed two goals in all competitions with five games gone into the new season.
