Dianna Russini puts to rest Eagles' A.J. Brown trade rumors with latest update

The sports media world decided to spend the last week speculating about when the Philadelphia Eagles will trade wide receiver A.J. Brown after his one catch game against the Dallas Cowboys last week. Entering Dianna Russini to end the talks. For now.

On Saturday, Russini published an article on The Athletic that shared some of the rumors swirling around the NFL. She was able to address the questions around Brown and shared how Eagles general manager Howie Roseman put a stop to all the trade talks a while back.

"While we’re talking about big-time receivers teams could sniff around before the trade deadline in early November, Philly’s A.J. Brown, who had a quiet Week 1, drew some interest months ago.

But teams poking around during the offseason were told by Eagles GM Howie Roseman flat-out: No dice.

We’ll see if anything changes in the coming weeks as we again monitor Brown’s connection with Jalen Hurts."

Will the Eagles hold strong on not trading Brown?

To put into perspective what Brown has done for the franchise since being traded to them, He has made two Pro Bowls, three All-Pro selections, two Super Bowl appearances, and one Super Bowl title win. Brown has racked up three consecutive seasons of at least 1,000 yards receiving and seven touchdowns.

It would be the biggest understatement to say that Brown means something to this offense. Despite their run-heavy approach to their offensive game planning, Brown is an important piece to the offense and has been for the last three years.

Roseman gave up a first-round pick to bring in Brown. Draft picks are essential to Roseman, so for him to give that up to bring in a top talent like Brown speaks volumes to what he means to the team.
