A six-yard pass to Kahseim Phillips pushed Towson on the next drive, but the Tigers could not move further. Into the third, a Maryland pass was hit into the air and intercepted by JR Stegall, returned to the Maryland 5. Towson tried to score, but a pass intercepted in the end zone by Maryland was returned the full field for a Terrapins touchdown.

Maryland got the ball back and ran out the clock to win.
