Rfef respond to Hansi Flick’s criticism after Lamine Yamal ruled out with injury for Barcelona

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has criticised the RFEF after losing Lamine Yamal to injury after the international break.

Yamal has been ruled out of Sunday’s clash with Valencia and may also miss Barcelona’s next game against Newcastle in the Champions League.

Yet the Barcelona manager’s words have “caused huge surprise” in the RFEF, according to Diario Sport.

The report claims that at no time were the medical staff informed of any problems with Yamal during his time with the Spain national team.

There’s also confusion as one of the physios with the national team is Fernando Galán, who also works with Yamal at Barcelona. Galan “did not communicate anything about any ailment,” according to AS.

The report also claims that Yamal wasn’t happy at being taken off against Turkey instead of playing the whole 90 minutes, suggesting he wasn’t feeling any pain.

All in all it’s not a great situation for Barcelona, Yamal or Spain. There’s clearly a bit of tension now between club and country which may need to be resolved before Spain return to action next month.
