Breaking: Top NFL Trade Candidate Receiving Interest? – 4 Potential Dream Teams

As shocking as it may seem, the Philadelphia Eagles have been receiving interest for wide receiver AJ Brown in a possible trade. According to reports, the Eagles received multiple calls from teams this offseason for Brown after their Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. To no one’s surprise, the team shut down those talks and is not in the market of trading away their top pass-catcher for quarterback Jalen Hurts. However, it’s easy to understand why teams are trying to trade for Brown, given the antics he had on the sideline after not being targeted on the field last year as much.

The same case can be said about Week 1, after hauling in just one catch. Philadelphia may be turning down offers now, but if he continues to be on a downward trend, they might be open to the idea of a trade, but it would need to be at the right price. Originally selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the former Ole Miss product joined the Eagles in 2022 through a trade, and it paid dividends for this offense. However, after signing, Saquon Barkley has changed the priority of the offense, where Hurts was handing the ball more often. It isn’t to say that the Eagles could be okay without Brown for the foreseeable future as he declines, but after investing in another running back, Tank Bigsby, it shows what the team may be focusing on.

Possible Fits

New England Patriots

This is a no-brainer trade for the New England Patriots as new head coach Mike Vrabel is installing his own philosophy in this team. After signing Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins, it gives quarterback Drake Maye some adequate weapons in the aerial attack this season. However, there is room for improvement, even though they did have one of the deepest receiver groups in the league. Vrabel knows Brown more than anyone in the NFL, and he’ll probably do everything in his power to get him.

Baltimore Ravens

Meanwhile, this trade would make a lot of sense if they don’t retain DeAndre Hopkins after his one-year contract is over. Between Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, the Ravens have been struggling to find a true WR3. After going through Odell Beckham Jr., Diontae Johnson and Nelson Agholor, the Ravens finally need some stability in their receiver core group. Brown can easily find his role in this offense, and this might be the move the Ravens have to make if they fail again to reach the Super Bowl under Lamar Jackson.

Los Angeles Chargers

However, the Los Angeles Chargers are lacking true star power in the receiver unit. Despite signing Keenan Allen, he is past his prime while they’re developing Ladd McConkey, KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Tre Harris. Quarterback Justin Herbert is a top 5 signal-caller, and Jim Harbaugh must treat him as so after failing to trade for DK Metcalf this past offseason. Brown could be the top Chargers pass-catcher for a long time until he retires.
