Packers' Jayden Reed Receives Potential Return Dates From Sports Doctor

The Green Bay Packers moved to 2-0 on Thursday night with a win over the Washington Commanders. Unfortunately, they also lost wide receiver Jayden Reed to a broken collarbone.

Reed, who has become a huge playmaker for Jordan Love, will miss an extended period of time due to the injury. His absence will be felt by the Packers, who have relied quite heavily on him in the passing game. However, Green Bay does have wide receivers who can step up in his absence.

Despite the severity of the injury, the Packers are hopeful to see him come back this season. Reed has also been adamant about making his return this year.

Just how long could he miss? One sports doctor has spoken out with some potential return dates for the young wideout.

Jesse Morse, a popular sports medicine physician, took to X to share three possible return dates for Reed.

"Jayden Reed projected return dates: Week 10 - Eagles, Week 11 - Giants, Week 12 - Vikings. Does not sound like he is also having foot surgery, as that would hold out for 11 weeks, if he has a Jones fracture," Morse wrote.

Throughout the first two weeks of the 2025 NFL season, Reed had caught three passes for 45 yards and a touchdown. He will be missed, but Green Bay has other weapons who can step up like Matthew Golden, Dontayvion Wicks, Malik Heath, and Savion Williams.

Back in the 2024 season, Reed played in 17 games and caught 55 passes for 857 yards and six touchdowns. As a rookie in 2023 he racked up 64 receptions for 793 yards and eight scores.

Losing him until later in the year isn't the worst thing in the world for the Packers. They have pieces who can help them get by and will be able to get him back on the field to ramp up before the playoffs.

It's a setback for Green Bay without a doubt. Reed is a very important player, but there are many worse injuries he could have suffered.

Hopefully, he's able to attack the recovery process and get back on the field as soon as possible. Should he be able to return in Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Packers would be in great shape heading into the stretch run.

Next up for Green Bay will be a Week 3 matchup on the road against the Cleveland Browns.
