Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill probably won't be traded.
Heard any good Tyreek Hill trade rumors lately? The Miami Dolphins have had issues with Hill going back to the last game of the 2024 season when he said “I’m out, bro,” and it wouldn’t really have been a surprise to anyone if he got traded by now.
But, here we are heading into Week 2 of the NFL season and Hill is still with the Dolphins. They got stomped 33-8 by the Daniel Jones-led Indianapolis Colts and the game probably wasn’t even that close. Add in the fact that Hill caught four passes for 40 yards and you can see where this might be headed.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero went on the Rich Eisen Show recently and said he can’t see Hill getting moved anytime soon.
“I don’t foresee Tyreek Hill being traded in the near-term by the Dolphins, barring some type of blow up, which we’ve seen those happen surrounding Tyreek in the past (with) post-game comments,” Pelissero said. “I don’t get the sense we’re there, because the moment that they would trade Tyreek Hill, that’s Miami waving the white flag…you also have to factor in here — bringing in Tyreek Hill would change certain dynamics potentially in your locker room.”
The Miami Dolphins probably won’t trade Tyreek Hill to the Pittsburgh Steelers
Of all of the rumors swirling regarding Hill this offseason, training camp, regular season, etc., one lately has mentioned the Pittsburgh Steelers. They already have D.K. Metcalf and are hoping quarterback Aaron Rodgers can build on his four touchdown performance against the New York Jets.
Would the Steelers make a move and try to get Hill? They made a trade with the Dolphins earlier this year, but maybe that’s the problem according to Pelissero.
“I don’t see a team like the Steelers bringing in Tyreek Hill period, to be quite frank,” Pelissero continued. “Never say never but if any team is going to have inside information on where things went sideways with Tyreek last year, it would be from a team that traded for multiple other Dolphins veterans within the past couple of few months. It just seems like it would be a difficult fit there.”
The Miami Dolphins won’t trade Tyreek Hill at all
It sounds like it might not be whether or not the Dolphins would trade Hill, it’s more like who would want him? Hill makes a ton of money, his skillset is declining at age 31-years old (even though he’s still super fast) and he’s a well-known heaadache.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter says that Miami has no plans to trade the mercurial wide receiver at this point, regardless as to who the team is.
“But as of Saturday, sources told Schefter, the Dolphins have not fielded any trade inquiries on Hill, who is in the second year of a restructured three-year, $90 million contract,” ESPN writes. “The Dolphins already exercised Hill’s $15.85 million option bonus for this season, leaving a $10 million base salary and $1.8 million in per-game bonuses.”
Hill, as you may have guessed, acts like he doesn’t care too much.
“I don’t really pay attention to any of that,” Hill said, when asked about potentially being traded. “I feel like to me, noise is good — adversity is opportunity. I look at it like that.”
