Guglielmo Vicario shares who out of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Alisson Becker he thinks is better

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has shared who he thinks is better out of Manchester City newcomer Gianluigi Donnarumma and Liverpool veteran Alisson Becker.

Gianluigi Donnarumma has only just joined Manchester City, but he arrives as arguably the best goalkeeper in the world, following his heroics with Paris Saint-Germain last season.

Meanwhile, Alisson has been a revelation for Liverpool and has also been up there in the conversation about the world’s best keepers for quite some time now.

Vicario, who is in his third season with Tottenham, has now spoken about both keepers, alongside Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois.

When it came to the World’s Best Goalkeepers section, Vicario went with Donnarumma in first place, Alisson in second and Courtois in third.

Asked to explain his selections, Vicario said of Donnarumma: “He’s a nice lad first of all. Very, very kind of him in every aspect, especially off the pitch.

“This season (year) of course he won the treble with PSG and I think he played the main man role in the Champions League knockout stage.”

Of Alisson, he said: “I put Ali in number two because he won the Premier League. He has been amazing.

“Of course, he has been injured for a while, but of course, when he’s stepping back, he has been insane for his club.”

What Gianluigi Donnarumma has already done to impress Manchester City insiders

When the best players sign for a new club during the summer’s transfer deadline day, they normally don’t stick around for very long as they tend to go away on international duty.

With the international break now thankfully out of the way – for a few weeks at least – Man City were finally able to welcome Donnarumma properly to the club.

It has been reported that those who have spent time around Donnarumma in Manchester ‘say he has an aura about him’.

Donnarumma reportedly also made a great impression around the club with his politeness.

Before undertaking a two-hour session with the club’s media team, Donnarumma apparently walked around the building and introduced himself to everyone he met.

Tijjani Reijnders was also buzzing to greet Donnarumma on social media.

Donnarumma certainly seems to have the right personality to succeed at City, and it’ll be exciting to see how he fares on the pitch too.
