Leamore Windows - PARTNER ALWAYS WOLVES
Leamore Windows - PARTNER ALWAYS WOLVES
1. Defence
Agbadou is just a completely different player, a shadow of the colossal centre half we saw last season and it’s incredibly frustrating. Going from having huge levels of confidence in our back line to seeing us be so negative and constantly playing backwards is just purely so hard to watch at times. Good to see Yerson return but did not seem to be up to pace at all at times, too negative with passing backwards.
2. Standard of refereeing
Keeping it brief… my word! Felt as though Wolves were really let down by the officials today, plenty of controversial decisions and majority of them were not in Wolves’ favour. I’m sure this statement doesn’t come as much of a shock.
3. Fer Lopez
I feel as though there is quite a bit to talk about with Fer… we saw over the international break he managed to play a solid 80 minutes for the Spain under 21s picking up an assist in his cameo and playing really well. Despite him being a standout performer for Spain… he yet again doesn’t get a place in the starting XI which many fans alongside me think is the wrong decision but we choose to back the lineup.
To then bring on Munetsi ahead of him when we are chasing a goal is really strange to me, and to make matters worse Munetsi was so so poor when he came on.
And Fer did more in a few minutes than many of them on that pitch tonight. A lot has to change fast and one of the main points in my opinion would be a Fer being a regular starter.
4. Vitor
Completely baffled by the changes as stated prior, Munetsi coming on and Andre off was the wrong approach without a doubt. That performance did not deserve to be applauded in total honesty. There seems to be no plan in place at all.
It really frustrated me when it seemed like the game plan was to slow everything down and hit it long. Tolu was struggling against Dan Burn so to take off the not fully fit Tolu and continue to play long balls up to Jhon Arias and Hwang Hee Chan is mind blowing. Just seemed like the incorrect set up today and we paid the price.
5. Passion
Another thing that stood out to me today was the lack of desire and fight from the players, plenty of second balls there to be won but a lot of backing out of challenges and heads dropping which is really concerning to see so soon into the season, feels as though we are a team destined for the drop this season. The players just did not want it enough, passing backwards and sideways when the ball is there to be played in behind the Newcastle defence… disappointing. A long travel home for myself and the rest of the fans who made the journey 😴
