The announcement of Ange Postecoglou as Nottingham Forest head coach earlier this week generated plenty of headlines.
The dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo caught many by surprise, not least because the Reds confirmed his sacking shortly after midnight on Tuesday. A matter of hours later, Postecoglou was in place.
The former Tottenham Hotspur boss kicked off Forest’s new era against Arsenal yesterday. The challenge ahead of him has already been set as owner Evangelos Marinakis spoke of targeting trophies when the Greek-born Australian’s appointment was confirmed.
Postecoglou’s arrival sparked mixed opinions among supporters, while the man himself admitted in his first press conference that he will need to earn their trust and respect. Outside observers have also been divided over how he will fare.
Only time will tell on that front. In the meantime, NottinghamshireLive takes a look at what a selection of pundits have said about Postecoglou taking on the Reds job.

“The only thing that worries me is the style of play. I think there’s a group of players here that have got into a groove and the style of play has brought them success.
“They counterattack. I think certainly the two centre halves enjoy having people around them to cover them up a little bit and get the best out of them.
“If you’re going to play expansive and open, does that suit Forest with their counter attack method of play? That’s my question mark with Ange.”
Robert Earnshaw
“I actually believe (Forest will finish) sixth. I just think with Ange coming in, Nottingham Forest fits him correctly. I just feel like it’s a good fit.
“The other thing is, does he have the right players? I think he’s got a really good squad.
“Good signings. I think he’s going to really enjoy working with these players.
“I don’t want to see him change too much because I want him to be authentic and be himself. I want the attacking football.”

"There's a dearth of talent to go round so you have to go back to other people's cast-offs. He's a cast-off from Spurs, isn't he? He was cast asunder.
"Whether he's going to have learnt lessons from Tottenham and subsequently deploy them differently at Nottingham Forest, he will have the same challenges. Nottingham Forest are looking upwards and Marinakis is no easy person to work for - in terms of being very demanding, and so he should be because he spends the money, which gives him the right to be demanding.
"Nottingham Forest have ambitions to win things. If he sets himself up the same way he did for Tottenham, he will have the same challenges, won't he? Interesting fit.”
Steve Nichol
"This is how Ange does it and he is not going to change that. I mean, Marinakis has just been waiting to find somebody and he clearly has not thought about this because everything we talked about – having a good shape and being tight – is because nobody on that Forest side ever got exposed because they were always a unit.
“Now under Ange, every single one of them is going to be exposed. Now it is okay; let us see what he can do, and they do not have a Van de Ven at the back who can do 100 metres in nine seconds to clear up all the holes and all the gaps.”
Darren Bent
“I know we're talking about Ange, but it's chalk and cheese that you're going from. You're going from a counter-attacking side and exciting football where Forest can kind of weather the pressure and then hit teams on the counter-attack with that pace they've got. Then you'll have Ange's football where they are so wide open."
