Liverpool goal against Burnley would complete remarkable 38-game feat

A Liverpool goal against Burnley would see the Reds achieve a remarkable 38-match feat, while Mo Salah can climb the Premier League leaderboards.

The Reds travel to Turf Moor boasting the Premier League‘s only 100 percent record after three games.

Should Liverpool take another three points, they will have scored in 38 consecutive Premier League matches, the equivalent of an entire campaign.

The Reds have also scored in their last 22 consecutive away league fixtures since facing Everton in April 2024 – that’s a club record.

The last time Liverpool failed to score in the league was last September, against Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

Salah’s next goal will see him move into fourth place on the Premier League era’s all-time scorers list, taking him to 188, one more than Andy Cole.

In addition, the Egyptian’s next successful league penalty will see him become the club’s record scorer from the spot in their league history. It would be his 35th, overtaking Billy Liddell’s 34.

Steven Gerrard tops the list of most penalties scored for Liverpool, with the No. 8 netting 47 in all competitions. Salah is three behind with 44.

Jan Molby is next on the list, having converted 42 of the 45 he took for the Reds, managing an incredible 93 percent conversion rate.

Salah has scored eight goals for Liverpool against Martin Dubravka, who will likely start in goal for Burnley. Only against Ederson (10), plus David de Gea and Ilian Meslier (nine each), has he netted more often.

Liverpool could win their opening four league games of a campaign for just the third time in the Premier League era – previously in 2018/19 and 2019/20.

Four of Liverpool’s 10 goals this season in all competitions have been scored after the 82nd minute, while three of the six conceded have been scored after the 76th minute.

In the four games played so far, including the Community Shield, eight different Liverpool players have found the net, with only Hugo Ekitike scoring more than once.

The Reds have lost just two of their last 28 league games that have come immediately after an international break, winning 21 and drawing five.
