One player Manchester United have sent on loan to the Championship made his first appearance since leaving the Red Devils
The Red Devils confirmed the 18-year-old’s loan exit on deadline day. He made his senior debut for United earlier this year but has moved to the Championship on loan in his first stint away from Old Trafford.
He came on for his Red Devils debut in an away win over Leicester City and made a further six appearances under Ruben Amorim during the 2025-26 campaign. He is the 253rd academy graduate to come through the ranks at Old Trafford.
United sent Amass to the Owls in the hope he would get regular minutes with the South Yorkshire club. He joined Wednesday before the international break and was handed his debut in his first game since signing for the club, as he was put in from the start against Bristol City.
Harry Amass scores own goal on ‘unlucky’ debut
Sheffield Wednesday have had a torrid time on and off the field of late, with supporters incredibly unhappy with the club’s owner Dejphon Chansiri. There have been issues with wages being paid on time at the South Yorkshire club which saw Danny Rohl and a number of players depart ahead of the current campaign.
Amass was named in the starting line-up by manager Henrik Pedersen on Saturday but scored an own-goal after just six minutes. Emil Riis Jakobsen and Anis Mehmeti scored another two goals before half-time to secure victory for the away side.
Henrik Pedersen ‘really happy’ with Harry Amass
Ahead of Saturday’s game, Wednesday boss Pedersen was full of praise for Amass, as he said: "He feels really well, when I speak with him and see him on the pitch, I see a concentrated and happy boy, who likes his new life in Sheffield and he's doing really well.
"You always have expectations before when you're choosing players, but it feels like he feels really well and I'm really happy that he's in.”
He added: "I think we have to be proud, and we have to be very thankful, because what they have done for us is fantastic and big respect for what they have done.
"I'm proud because they could see that Sheffield Wednesday could be a good space and a good club for Harry and the trust they have in this direction, and on the other hand what that has done for us, it's a big respect, and thanks."
