Jordan Love makes big statement on Tucker Kraft after TE’s monster Week 2

The case for Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft as one of the best in his position in the NFL can’t be any stronger than everfollowing the show he put up on the field in last Thursday’s 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders.

With wide receiver Jayden Reed suffering an upper-body injury in the first quarter before getting ruled out for the rest of the contest, Kraft stepped up, ensuring quarterback Jordan Love had a steady target downfield.

Kraft finished the Commanders gamewith a career-high 124 receiving yards and a touchdown on six receptions and seven targets. He had never before caught for more than 100 yards in a game, but he finally got one with all eyes focused on Week 2’s edition of Thursday Night Football.

Love came away with 292 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions while completing 19 of his 31 throws versus the Commanders. He was sacked twice for a loss of 23 yards, but overall, he had a solid outing, in large part because of Kraft’s brilliance.

“That’s what Tuck is every day,” Love said (h/t Mike Spofford of the Packers’ official website). “I don’t think it’s a secret for him to go out there and ball like he does. Tuck’s a guy that’s going to have a big year.”

There has never been a tight end in the history of the Green Bay franchise who has ever caught for at least 1,000 yards in a season, and Kraft could be the first one to do it. Through two games in the 2025 NFL campaign, Kraft has 140 receiving yards and two touchdowns on eight catches and 11 targets.
