Scott, Semenyo superb and Milosavljevic impresses on debut: Player ratings

Scott opened the scoring with a brilliant strike after 18 minutes, before Semenyo restored the Bournemouth lead shortly after the hour mark from the penalty spot to see the Cherries win 2-1.

It was another good performance from Andoni Iraola’s men, as they now sit in the top four of the league after four games.

The Daily Echo rates the Cherries in their victory.

**Djordje Petrovic: 6**

The keeper didn’t have too much to do through the 90 minutes, but was caught out for the Brighton equaliser, half coming for the cross but not reaching it and ending up out of position for Mitoma to head home.

**Adrien Truffert: 7**

The left back continues to impress having joined the club in the summer. He was good overlapping on the left going forward and was largely good defensively – although Yankuba Minteh got the better of him to cross for the Brighton goal.

**Marcos Senesi: 8**

The Argentine has been excellent in the past three games for the Cherries, and he was good again on Saturday. With a young, inexperience centre back next to him, he martialled the defence and helped Milosavljevic through the game – while also impressing himself.

**Veljko Milosavljevic: 8**

A superb debut for the Serbian. I think one of the biggest complements you could pay to him was he didn’t look like an 18-year-old playing his first game in the Premier League. He looked calm, collected and solid – and a real physical presence.

**James Hill: 7**

Like Truffert, he was good overlapping on the right and looked strong defensively, keeping Mitoma quiet through much of the 90, although the Japanese international was able to get free to score the Brighton equaliser.

**Tyler Adams: 7**

Another Cherry who has made a brilliant start to the season and the American was good again in central midfield.

**Alex Scott: 9**

My man of the match. Scott was superb – his best performance of the season so far. A brilliantly taken goal, his first in a Cherries shirt since January 2024.

**David Brooks: 7**

A good showing from the Welshman, who captained the side.

**Marcus Tavernier: 7**

A solid showing from the Englishman, who played a key role in the equaliser, reading the play brilliantly to cut out a pass and showed the composure to draw the defenders and play it to Evanilson, who won the penalty.

**Antoine Semenyo: 9**

Semenyo continues his sensational start to the season so far. Three goals and two assists so far this season, and one of each against the Seagulls, converting well from the penalty spot in an excellent overall performance.

**Evanilson: 8**

The Brazilian was on good form, too, doing well to draw the foul for the penalty, cutting inside Jan Paul van Hecke and going over the outstretched leg.
