Newcastle United recorded their first win of the Premier League season against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
And while a summer of knocks and disappointments, all involved with the Magpies have earned the big nights under the lights at St James’ Park.
What a way to kick of their return after a season away than to roll back the clock to 1997 - and to do it all again with European giants Barcelona. Back then it was Tino Asprilla who blew away the Spanish giants with his aerial prowess - and this time the Magpies will be hoping their new boy, Nick Woltemade, can do something similar.
The big German certainly got off to a decent start in black and white as he scored the only goal of the game on his debut to ensure the first win of the season in the Premier League, over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And while it has been far from perfect so far for United in their top flight season, skipper Bruno Guimaraes is hopeful some much needed R&R - the captain only returned after an energy-sapping international for Brazil in Bolivia 36 hours before kick-off on Tyneside - will help inspire the Magpies on to something special on Thursday night.
On X, Guimaraes said: “Three very important points. Now it’s time to rest a bit for our Champions League debut. Howay the lads!”

Nick Woltemade’s debut goal handed Newcastle United a 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Howe handed a debut to £69million club-record signing Nick Woltemade, who was one of three changes from the goalless draw at Leeds United before the international break.
Harvey Barnes and Joelinton, back from a muscle injury, returned to the starting line-up in place of Will Osula and Sven Botman as Howe reverted back to his 4-3-3 formation.
And it was a dream debut for the Magpies’ new 6ft 6in German after he put his side in front when he headed home Jacob Murphy’s cross in the 30th minute.
