Five things seen and heard as Albion lost at Bournemouth

A second successive game turned on quite a tame penalty when nothing should really have been on – this time against [Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/). It felt like momentum in the game had switched in the Seagulls’ favour in the opening part of the second half until a poor pass and dangled foot gave Bournemouth their leg up. But that move underlined one thing that was clear for abut three-quarters of the game – that Bournemouth were quite comfortable out of possession.

It looked like Fabian Hurzeler was trying to keep morale up as he went to the edge of his technical area a couple of times in the first half and spoke to his players. Obviously, we could not hear him but the facial expression and body language seemed to suggest he was looking to lift morale after two injuries and the goal conceded.

### Sour Cherries

For all Albion’s unhappiness over the first goal, it was the home team who seemed to feel they were on the wrong end of an injustice. Fans booed referee Peter Bankes at half-time and Tyler Adams was booked on the way to the changing room, presumably for dissent. Their moans seemed to be about some fouls and yellow card decisions although Marcos Senesi was fortunate to avoid a booking for his first foul on Georginio Rutter.

### Midfield decision

James Milner started for the first time in the Premier League this season and made only his seventh competitive appearance for Fabian Hurzeler – and suffered his first defeat. The decision looked a good one and underlined both his own importance and enduring quality as well as the low-key start to the season by Carlos Baleba but we will never know how his partnership with Jack Hinshelwood would have worked in this game.

### Debut-makers

Stefanos Tzimas looked quite busy and eager on his Premier League debut without having any goalscoring chances. But the eye-catching debut was that of Bounemouth centre-back Veljko Milosavljevic, a centre-back who turned 18 in the summer and arrived ahead of the recent deadline from FK Crvena Zvezda (AKA Red Star Belgrade). That change was seen as a possible concern for the Cherries but turned into a strength.
