Manchester United hinted on Sunday morning at who could replace the injured Diogo Dalot in their starting line-up to face Manchester City.

Dalot pulled out of the Portugal squad last week after reportedly suffering muscle discomfort while training with them. United head coach Ruben Amorim has acknowledged that the defender will not be available to play in the Manchester derby.

He is one of eight players to appear in all four of the club's matches thus far this season. That group will be reduced significantly this weekend as Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha are unavailable after being injured against Burnley.

Amad, Benjamin Sesko, Bruno Fernandes, Bryan Mbeumo and Matthijs de Ligt complete the current crop of ever-presents. Dalot being absent likely assures the former of a start at right-wing-back.

The Portugal international started there instead of Amad against Arsenal on the opening weekend of this season. Since then, though, they have predominantly played together, occupying opposite wings with Dalot switching flanks.

Both played the full 90 minutes versus Burnley at Old Trafford last time, with Patrick Dorgu being an unused substitute for the first time this term. However, much like away at Fulham last month, the Denmark international will seemingly come in on the left.

United hinted at his involvement across their social media channels on Sunday morning. Their first post of matchday is a 14-second video featuring several clips of players, the second of whom to feature after Fernandes is Dorgu.

Amorim's first signing earlier this year also started and played the full 90 minutes in his Manchester derby debut during early April. Amad was unavailable through injury on that occasion, with Dalot on the right.

That match ended 0-0 at Old Trafford. As well as contributing to the team keeping a clean sheet, Dorgu almost assisted the only goal after crossing for substitute Joshua Zirkzee, only for Ederson to save.
