Blues travel up to Wearside to face Mel Reay’s Black Cats side at the Stadium of Light. Blues are looking to build on the great opening day win over Bristol City and also Sunderland want to start the season with back-to-back wins after comfortable beating Sheffield United on Friday night.

MATCH PREVIEW

Amys girls in blue will want to get back-to-back wins and want to build on the brilliant 5-1 win over Bristol City on Sunday with goals from two of the debutants in Lily Crosthwaite & and Batcheba Louis, also our new number nine Simone Magill scoring a brace and a brilliant goal from are Scottish Maestro and Captain Christie Harrison-Murray to make it a day to remember for the blues fans. Hopefully we will see the debut of Ji Soyun at the Stadium Of Light a fantastic capture for the club even if it’s on short term loan deal.

For Mel Reay’s Black Cats there started of the WSL2 weekend by beating Sheffield United 4-0 at Bramall Lane on Friday night goals from Izzy Atkinson, Rhiannon Roberts, Katie Kitching, and Emily Scarr made it a comfortable night in the steel city for Reay’s Sunderland side. Reay has brought in seven permeant transfers one of them is a familiar face in former Blues player Jamie Finn there also brought in Izzy Atkinson from PalaceGrace Moloney on a free after her realise from London City Lionesses and Rhiannon Roberts from Real Betis are my stands out signings. To me Mel is someone I got so much respect for has a manager and in my opinion will be up there challenging for promotion.

PLAYERS TO LOOK OUT FOR

The first is one of the goal scorers from Friday night in Izzy Atkinson a fantastic player and was surprised that Crystal Palace let her go.

The second is Jamie Finn I was absolutely gutted that we let her go for her experience but for Sunderland she will be a fan favourite on and off the pitch a brilliant piece of business for the black cats.

And the third Emily Scarr a player in my view doesn’t get the credit she deserves always gives her all in whatever shirt she has put on in the past.

LAST TIME WE MET

The last time we met was on the second of February when a Lee Geum-Min strike in the seventh minute got all three points at the Stadium Of Light.
