49ers legend Joe Montana gets SF Giants fans pumped as they take on the Dodgers

The San Francisco 49ers take on the New Orleans Saints today, but last night, 49ers legend Joe Montana showed some support to another Bay Area team in the San Francisco Giants as they took on the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Montana got Giants fans fired up ahead of the game as the Giants make a push for the playoffs with the incredible run they have been on as of late.

It was a nice show of support from the greatest quarterback in 49ers history. The Giants were having their "49ers Day" at the park and they gave away red Giants jerseys as part of a cross-Bay Area support effort.

Apparently, Montana admitted that he fell asleep during Friday night's game between the Giants and the Dodgers, which is a shame because it was an instant classic as the Giants won on a walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning.

He was not the only Niner who got involved in the festivities although the other players were involved virtually. Linebacker Fred Warner, right guard Dominick Puni, and fullback Kyle Juszczyk all gave the Giants a shoutout on social media.

Warner has been vocal about his support for the Giants in the past and he even threw out the first pitch at the team's home opener a few years back alongside former 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

Running back Christian McCaffrey took in a game at Oracle Park over the summer, and Brock Purdy threw out the first pitch at a game last summer. Former Niners quarterback Alex Smith has not been a stranger at Giants games over the years, either.

It is always great to see Bay Area athletes unite and support one another. Bay Area sports fans often cheer for all of these teams so it is always neat to see the overlap between different sports.

Montana will always be welcome anywhere in the Bay Area thanks to all that he accomplished with the 49ers so it was cool to see him out there getting Giants fans pumped up. Who knows, maybe some of that famous Montana magic will rub off on the team and help the team make it into the playoffs.
