Leeds United departed London on Saturday evening with a real sense of frustration after a Gabriel Gudmundsson own goal handed hosts Fulham all three points and denied the Whites a useful point on the road. In a game, that especially in the first half, was short on chances and quality at the top end of the pitch, taking chances was always going to be key.
Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin's free header straight at Bernd Leno was almost as good as it got for Leeds. It was a rare opportunity that, according to former Tottenham Hotspur and England defender Michael Dawson, Calvert-Lewin should have done much better with.
The ex-Everton forward has been brought in to try aid Leeds' attack this season, with manager Daniel Farke needing for him to weigh in with his share of goals this campaign if the Whites are to stay up.
Dawson, who was watching the game for Sky Sports, was not impressed with what he saw.
“Bang, bang average”, was Dawson's take on Calvert-Lewin.

“Very poor. He didn’t get an awful lot of service. Didn’t get a lot of service, don’t get me wrong.
“He had one opportunity with the header. He hit the target, but you’ve got to score.
“When you’re in the Leeds team, you’re not gonna create loads and loads of chances. When that one chance comes, a header from seven yards out, you have to take it.
“But, apart from that, didn’t do an awful lot. I mean, the game hasn’t done an awful lot, to be honest.”
