Pep Guardiola fought back tears as Manchester City and Manchester United paid tribute to Ricky Hatton at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. Hatton was found dead at his home in Manchester on Sunday morning at the age of 46.
Ahead of kick-off at the Etihad, a minute of applause echoed around the stadium as fans from both teams came together to pay their respects to one of the biggest icons in the history of British boxing. Supporters were heard chanting: “There’s only one Ricky Hatton.” And the tribute clearly evoked plenty of emotion on the touchline, with Guardiola spotted with tears in his eyes.
