Lions' Week 2 inactive list offers a positive sign about Taylor Decker's health

The Detroit Lions have released their inactive list for Week 2 against the Chicago Bears, and it's more of the same from Week 1 just carrying over.

One exclusion is worth talking about, though, and that's of tackle Taylor Decker. The veteran O-lineman has been dealing with a shoulder injury for a full week leading up to the Lions' huge game against Ben Johnson and the Bears, and missed practice for the entire week. However, it seems like [he's good to go](https://sidelionreport.com/giovanni-manu-confident-he-ll-be-ready-if-called-upon-in-week-2-01k520avnqet), as he was nowhere to be found on the Lions' list ahead of the game.

Another starter that'll be active for the game is Kerby Joseph. The safety had been dealing with knee issue in the week leading up to the game, listed as questionable for the contest. He'll be in alongside Brian Branch, though, as the two look to lead the Lions' secondary to a much better Week 2 than they had in Week 1.

For Chicago, there are a few notable healthy scratches. Two second rounders will be sitting out the contest, and the team will also be without DB Kyler Gordon and WR Jahdae Walker. DE Grady Jarrett, [DB Jaylon Johnson](https://sidelionreport.com/lions-offense-dealt-a-blow-with-bears-cornerback-expected-to-return-for-week-2-01k4xddnf3nf), and LB T.J. Edwards will all be suiting up for the Bears, though, adding some issues for Detroit's offense.

No Trapilo, Amegadije, or Turner creates some lack of depth for Chicago's trenches on both sides. While they have a bit of a revamped O-line to protect Caleb Williams, they struggled in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings. Specifically, then-center Drew Dalman had a PFF rating of just 58.7 in pass protection, and 60.4 overall. Tackle Braxton Jones graded out at just 56.2 in pass protection, allowing six pressures, while coveted offseason acquisition Joe Thuney allowed four pressures.

We'll see if Detroit can further test this line with a quarterback like Williams who loves to scramble in the pocket.
