Mohamed Salah is still one of Liverpool’s best players, even if he hasn’t been in the best run of form recently.
Indeed, his last-minute penalty against Burnley on Sunday afternoon was the reason why the Reds won the game and managed to leave Turf Moor with all three points.
However, up until that point, the Egyptian King was performing well below par with others, such as Hugo Ekitike, outperforming him.

And, even though Salah hasn’t been Liverpool’s best player this season, he’s still managed to pull through when it’s mattered the most.
Mohamed Salah is Liverpool’s highest penalty kick scorer of all time
It goes without saying that, if Liverpool didn’t have Salah among their ranks last term, they’d have missed out on the Premier League title.
The Reds were overly reliant on the attacker last season, which is why Slot has spent over £400million on trying to improve his ranks this summer.
And, as per a report from BBC Sport, it seems like Salah has once again etched his name in Liverpool’s history books, despite performing well below par.
“Mo Salah’s penalty has seen him become Liverpool’s record scorer from the spot in their league history. It was his 35th, overtaking Billy Liddell’s 34,” they wrote.

“Salah has also moved up to fourth place on the Premier League’s all-time scorers list, with 188 goals, one more than Andy Cole.”
Mohamed Salah says that Burnley were a ‘tough opponent’ for Liverpool to face
Liverpool have somehow managed to keep their perfect Premier League record intact and now have 12 points to their name.
Although most fans and pundits expected Liverpool to retain the title this season, none would have anticipated how hard they’ve made it for themselves.
Each of their four top-flight games thus far have all included late goals, with their games against Bournemouth and Newcastle both being much harder than they should have been.
And, even Burnley made a good name for themselves on Sunday, with Salah admitting that they were a “tough opponent” to face.

“Tough opponent today, we tried our best to get the ball between the lines. It was tough but I am glad we managed it,” he said in quotes relayed by BBC Sport.
“We have a few new players in the starting line up and it takes time to adapt to our game and we try our best to make them confident in our game.
“We don’t give up. We try and push ourselves to the limit and as team we did that.”
At the moment, Liverpool look well on their way to retaining the Premier League title, but if they perform the way they did on Sunday against Atletico Madrid in their first Champions League game of the campaign, they’ll not be as lucky.
