Eagles vs. Chiefs: The matchup
The Eagles open a new game week as narrow 1.5-point favorites in Kansas City after kicking off the season with a charged-up 24-20 win over their rival Dallas Cowboys. Philadelphia lost defensive star Jalen Carter before he played a snap because of a spitting incident with Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, and the team fought uphill against a competitive Dallas defense playing its first game since trading star pass-rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. The Chiefs opened the season with a Friday night matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil and dropped a 27-21 contest, marking just the second time since 2015 that KC lost in Week 1. The last time they did it, the Chiefs lost to the Detroit Lions and went on to win their first of back-to-back Super Bowl titles later in the year.
