Erling Haaland and Phil Foden were on the scoresheet yet again in a Manchester Derby as Manchester City cruised past Manchester United in their 3-0 victory.
Haaland admitted he needs to take “responsibility” as one of the senior players at City and he did against Ruben Amorim’s side by scoring a brilliant brace while Foden opened the scoring in style.
Aside from the pair, another man who stole the headlines was Jeremy Doku.
With Omar Marmoush ruled out for six weeks after suffering his latest injury, the Belgian took his place in the side and provided two assists against Manchester United.
Jeremy Doku was Man City’s best player against Manchester United
While Foden and Haaland were excellent, Doku was arguably Manchester City’s best player against Manchester United as he was terrific from the get-go.
The 23-year-old was electric as he constantly had the beating of Noussair Mazraoui and for Foden’s opener, the winger showed a different side to his game by picking up the ball between the lines and darting past United’s defence before delivering an inch-perfect cross into the box.

Doku is trying to build more chemistry with Haaland behind the scenes and that was evident on the pitch as he held Leny Yoro off excellently before playing a perfectly-weighted through ball that led to Haaland’s first goal.

Even during the first 30 seconds of the contest, the former Rennes wideman found the star striker in behind the opposition defence while setting Tijjani Reijnders with an inch-perfect cutback, that was saved by Altay Bayindir,
Aside from his two assists, the Antwerp-born speedster was direct, dynamic and a constant threat throughout the contest in a performance that signified why Manchester City paid £55.5 million to sign Doku.
