Joe Burrow has left the Cincinnati Bengals’ Week 2 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with an apparent injury.

With about 8-and-a-half minutes to go in the 2nd quarter, Burrow appeared to be motioning toward his left ankle after being tackled. He eventually fell to his back in pain after trainers ran out to tend to him.

Here’s the video from CBS:

Burrow was then taken to the medical tent on the Cincinnati sideline for further treatment. Before the injury, he was 7-of-13 for 76 yards and a touchdown.

During halftime, the Bengals announced that Burrow had suffered a toe injury and was ruled questionable.

When healthy, Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. In his rookie season, he threw for 2,688 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions while running for 3 more touchdowns. But he tore the ACL, MCL, and PCL in his left leg in Week 11.

He was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2021 after 4,611 yards and 34 touchdowns, leading the Bengals to the Super Bowl that season. In 2022, he was named to his first Pro Bowl.

But in 2023, a right wrist injury in Week 11 ended his season prematurely. After surgery, he totaled a career-best 4,918 yards and 43 touchdowns in 2024, leading the league in both stats while making his 2nd Pro Bowl and winning his 2nd Comeback Player of the Year award.
