Usually, [Manchester United](https://manunews.com/) bring their “A” game to Manchester derbies, but on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium, Man United were humbled yet again under Ruben Amorim.
At no point did the Red Devils pose any sort of a threat to their biggest rivals, losing 3-0 while having no answers for the likes of Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland, who both made Luke Shaw look like a liability who belongs nowhere near the Premier League pitch.
The only bigger loser than Shaw was manager Ruben Amorim, whose stubborn tactics and 3-4-3 system continue to be exposed at the Premier League level, and nobody is under more fire to improve than the former Sporting CP manager.
And yet, Amorim has no intention of changing, nor does he even seem to understand that he is the problem and that his system is the common denominator behind the players performing worse as a collective.
He said after the match in the press conference, “I am no going to change. When I want to change my philosophy I will change. If not, you have to change the man.”
It’s shaping up to be a long season for Manchester United. And if Amorim isn’t willing to change his ideas, he will never succeed in the Premier League. And he will be out of Old Trafford before he knows it.
