Manchester United’s poor start to the season continued on Sunday as they lost 3-0 against rivals Manchester City.
Phil Foden put the hosts ahead at The Etihad, before striker Erling Haaland netted twice after the break to secure all three points for the Citizens.
The result moves City up to eighth in the Premier League standings, while the Red Devils sit 14th with just four points from their first four games.
Head coach Ruben Amorim is under increasing pressure to turn his side’s fortunes around, but in the meantime it has emerged that United are eyeing a move for an England international.
According to CaughtOffside, Man United are keen to bring Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton to Old Trafford.
The report claims that United view the Englishman as the ideal replacement for veteran midfielder Casemiro, who will turn 34 in the new year.

Wharton was the subject of interest from several clubs over the summer, but his £100 million price tag during the recent transfer window deterred interested clubs.
In January, however, the 21-year-old could be available for a fee closer to £60 million, the report suggests.
Wharton himself could look to leave Selhurst Park in order to play for a club competing in European competition, especially with a place in the England squad for next year’s World Cup at stake.
While United are said to be weighing up a midseason move for the midfielder, the report also suggests that Wharton is likely to leave Palace next year.
United are on the hunt for a new central midfielder having been linked with Brighton and Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba over the summer, and the report claims that Wharton is also high on the Red Devils’ list of targets.
