Chiefs Star Travis Kelce Gets Honest About His Legacy After Retirement

Many believe Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has it all. There are Super Bowl rings, a successful podcast, television and movie roles, and a singing sensation as his fiancée.

With that in mind, retirement rumors often swirl around Kelce, since he seemingly has everything going so well.

Some believed he would leave the potential injuries and issues of the NFL behind and ride off into the sunset with Swift as his wife to become a big Hollywood star.

In addition, his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, retired a few seasons ago and seems content with his life without playing in the NFL.

However, the Chiefs' Kelce seems to have more he still wants to achieve in his life and career, which includes football.

During part of Fox's NFL coverage on Sunday, Kelce appeared in a sitdown interview with Erin Andrews inside an empty Chiefs locker room.

She mentioned to the Pro Bowl tight end she'd heard from fans recently who thought he wouldn't be back to play this season for Kansas City. That's something that's swirled constantly around Kelce since his serious relationship with Swift.

"Really? You guys didn't think I was gonna come back?" Kelce asked.

"I love what I do. I'm still a kid on Sundays that enjoys every single aspect of the game. I built a family here. I don't want to give that up yet. I still feel like I got a lot to prove," he told Andrews.

For Travis Kelce, this is his 13th season in the NFL and with the Chiefs, which is how long his brother played before retiring. Andrews asked him what he wants his legacy to look like once he officially retires.

"That I was a good teammate. That I was a good person in the community. I just love what I do. I don't know. I'm not here for any other reasons. I just love coming in, playing football, and giving people something to get excited for outside of their lives on Sundays," he said.

"Hopefully, they can see how much excitement I bring to my life and they can bring that to others," Kelce said.

His 13th season opened with a disappointing loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil. Kelce and the Chiefs will try to get back on track in Week 2. However, their opener in Kansas City features a rematch against the Eagles, who beat them in Super Bowl LIX.
