DETROIT, MI — Touchdowns were more popular than KPop Demon Hunters on Sunday as the Detroit Lions were on an all-out offensive clinic.
The Lions trounced the Bears, leading at halftime 28-14.
The domination continued into the second half with Ford Field’s favorites on top, finishing with a score of 52-21.
It was poetic as it was the first meeting between Dan Campbell and his former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who has now led the Bears to an 0-2 start.
The Lions, on the other hand, earned their first win of the season, moving their record to 1-1.
Lions quarterback Jared Goff put his foot on the gas and never let off as he completed 23 of 28 passes for 334 yards with zero interceptions — five of which found the end zone for a touchdown.
Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who led the Lions in receiving, catching nine receptions on 11 targets for 115 yards and three touchdowns.
Jameson Williams and Brock Wright hauled in the other two receiving touchdowns, respectively.
The Lions rushing game was back to last season’s form as well.
Running back Jahmyr Gibbs led the team with 12 carries for 94 yards and one touchdown. But not far behind was David Montgomery, who tallied 11 carries for 57 yards and a touchdown.
On defense, Kerby Joseph snagged an interception in the first half , and proceeded with one of the more unique celebrations of the night — calling a celebration play in the end zone where he played quarterback, throwing a pass for fun.
