Best- and Worst-Case Scenarios for Bengals QB Joe Burrow Revealed

Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals were able to move to 2-0 on the season after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2 action. Unfortunately, Burrow went down with a serious injury.

As shared since the game ended, Burrow suffered a turf toe injury with torn ligaments that is expected to keep him out for quite some time.

Just how much time could Burrow miss? A sports doctor has weighed in with best and worst-case scenarios for the Bengals' superstar quarterback.

In a post on X, Jesse Morse took a look at the possible periods of time for Burrow's return. He sees a minimum of four weeks, but the worst-case scenario would be a season-ending injury.

Losing Burrow for the rest of the season would be a crushing blow for the Bengals. It would not "end their season" officially, but without him their chances of a Super Bowl run would drop almost entirely.

At this point in time, there is no telling what the future holds for Burrow. More official updates are sure to be available in the near future, but all fans can do is wait patiently.

Following the injury to Burrow, Jake Browning was put into the game. He performed decently, but did throw three interceptions. If Burrow's season is indeed in jeopardy, it would not be shocking to see Cincinnati look at other quarterback options.

Perhaps a name like Kirk Cousins could make sense. The Atlanta Falcons would almost surely be open to the right deal. Cousins could help keep the Bengals in contention until Burrow returns or through the remainder of the year.

Hopefully, the suggested worst-case scenario doesn't become a reality. Burrow has suffered enough major career setbacks already.

Despite the injury to their superstar quarterback, the Bengals sit at 2-0. Ideally, they will be able to focus on staying competitive and picking up a few wins until Burrow gets back on the field. If he does miss the rest of the year, the talent on the roster should still make Cincinnati a tough team to beat.

Expect to hear more news about Burrow soon. It will be a long and painful wait, especially after Morse's opinion being shared.
